Computer World - Wikipedia and others who participated in an unprecedented Internet blackout Wednesday is brought back to their network of sites promise to keep the battle going against IP disputes Protect Act (PIPA) and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA).
In a message to your own website, Wikipedia, thanked people who supported his power yesterday, but said: "We're not done yet."
Wikipedia was one of several large websites participating in the Internet "strike" yesterday. Site blacked out its contents and replace your regular website visitors with a message warning of two anti-piracy bill. Other sites that did much the same thing and Reddit, BoingBoing, Tucows, and an estimated 10,000 or more smaller sites.
Search giant Google also took part in the protest, but no black on your own site. Instead, the main logo blacked out.
Fighting the future of one of the groups that organized the protest, said that four of the top 10 Web sites, and another 13 top 100 40 000 smaller sites participated in the blackout. These numbers, 37,000 sites that went dark were the organization said WordPress.com.
A total of more than 4.5 million signatures were collected, and two million e-mails sent out by groups such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), Future Demand Progress and fight the group said.
According to the EFF, and between 09:00 on Tuesday morning, nearly 396,000 people signed our online petition, which resulted in approximately 1.2 million emails to Congress.
"Our next action legislation is black senators call-in day on Monday," said Rainey Reitman, director of EFF activism. Tiffiniy Cheng, co-founder of Fight the Future, said the group plans protest action until both bills are dropped. "Unfortunately, Protect IP, however, it is a final vote is scheduled for Tuesday" in the U.S. Senate, said Cheng. "We have not heard Senator [Patrick] Leahy, moreover, that he draws a bill."
