Mention the word "crowdsourcing" and designers (at least the good worth their salt) will throw their hands in despair. To put it simply, the term basically means that you take your project into the hands of a competent, responsible person or team and throw in a mass of people supposedly capable. A recipe for disaster.

The first time in a 2006 "Wired" write-ups, crowdsourcing has since proven to be detrimental to the business of both the client and the designer in several ways.
