Bangalore / Hong Kong: Apple Investors Inc. is the one word answer to those who do not know if this company can maintain its phenomenal juggernaut momentum in the coming years: in Asia.
Maker of the iconic iPhone, iPad, and iPod is barely scratched the surface region, where approximately 60 percent of the world's population - the fact that Apple itself hinted at the striking set of reporting earnings this week.
Apple's numbers, which included a 70 percent jump in December-quarter revenue and a doubling of profits, actually precluded the sale of its hottest new product, the iPhone 4S, its largest potential market in China.
Latest iPhone sales do not go there until this month, and there were riots almost immediately ran to the demand of the offer shoppers with empty-handed throwing eggs typically minimalist glass-fronted Apple store in Beijing.
And the long shadow of China, other Asian markets, virtually unused, as India and Indonesia are waiting with a home occupied by about 1.4 billion people.
"I want an iPhone as a lifestyle, it's a trendy phone," says 19-year-old Dylan, who is the hip fashion boutique, Goods worked at the center of Jakarta.
Sporting a trendy hairstyle, a long pendant necklace, vintage jeans and Ray Ban sunglasses, it is typical of style-conscious consumers everywhere, Apple's sleek devices which are not so many useful gadgets to important fashion accessories.
But Dylan and the hundreds of millions of other aspiring Apple customers in Jakarta Shanghai Mumbai, there is a problem: they can not afford to buy essential items if desired. About $ 830, even older iPhone 4 times the monthly salary cost of the two young foreign exchange dealer in Jakarta.
This simple fact - unaffordability of developing Asia - have begun to test a passionate faith in Apple's ability to maintain its sales growth without a major foray into new product categories, such as TV. Mukherjee plans to buy a smartphone next month and is considering the BlackBerry, or Samsung Galaxy. "Apple's greatest strength is still the user interface. Sleekest phone is possible, options, design, mainly in the App Store ... But I think now there is an alternative. Two years ago I was not there, but now there is."
Cult of Apple
Industry experts say Apple could develop a less expensive version of the iPhone in the Asian markets, without compromising its huge profit margins, but other obstacles remain, such as compatibility with new products in the local telecommunications networks and how they are distributed.
China, for example, network technology is not enough to fully support the capabilities of the iPhone and the iPad, so some customers will not be able to surf the Internet via either device when connected to Wi-Fi hot spots, such as a coffee shop or hotel.

Network problems also exist in India, where telecommunications services are only now starting to 3G is rolled out, as Apple is preparing its 4G revolution in the developed markets.

"There is no money to consumers, carriers do not have the money ... If they (the media) mobile support costs, they need Apple to pay money upfront."
Do not worry, just wait
Despite signs that Asia does not have any low-hanging fruit, ripe for the picking Apple, sure, some industry analysts in the region of collective yearning for iPhone will ultimately be fulfilled, and the result of Apple's profits will keep soaring.

"Network and the incompatibility of these types of questions could probably be solved very quickly. I do not think it's a question that could be a real obstacle," said Gokul Hariharan analyst at JP Morgan in Hong Kong.
"Pricing, probably yes, it would need to come down over time, to allow for market penetration, but I think now the brand is essentially viewed more aspirational brand ... even 10-15 percent penetration is actually quite a big number."
The whole area, Apple resellers will find new ways to buy iPhone or iPad ease. Croma, India's electronics store chain that belongs to the Tata Group, offers Wi-Fi-only version of the iPad 2 Contribution to 2458 rupees ($ 50) and the remainder of 12 equal monthly installments.
